Old Windsor Allotment Association
🌻 Welcome 🌻
Hello and a very warm welcome to our allotment website 😊
The Old Windsor Allotments are located in (you guessed it) Old Windsor, Berkshire, England.
We are a friendly allotment site with over 100 plots of varying sizes. Our allotment community is a welcoming and sociable group of people, who are always happy to share their extensive knowledge of growing fruit and veg, with many of them having had a plot for over 10 years.
Growing your own fruit and veg is incredibly rewarding, and has an abundance of health benefits, both mental and physical. Spending time in the outdoors is good for the mind and your mental health, and the physical exercise is beneficial for our bodies. The organic produce that the allotment provides is also a brilliant way of boosting your overall health and vitality, as well as reducing your ecological impact!Â
The glorious flavours of homegrown fruit and veg are far superior to anything you can buy at the supermarket, especially produce like strawberries, carrots and tomatoes. You get better tasting food and a healthier mind and body, and your bank balance will be healthier too!
The allotments are the perfect place to spend warm sunny days and even cool winter ones.
If you are interested in having a plot on our site, please contact the Old Windsor Parish Clerk for further information. Tel: 01753 868842 or email: clerk@owpc.co.uk
"I always see gardening as escape, as peace really.
If you are angry or troubled, nothing provides the same solace
as nurturing the soil"
We are located in the village of Old Windsor, in Berkshire, England.
There have been allotments on the current site since 1968.
The allotments are owned and managed by Old Windsor Parish Council (OWPC), with the day to day running and
maintenance undertaken by the Old Windsor Allotment Association (OWAA).For plot holders we have an annual plant and produce sale, and barbeque which take place on site, as well as other social events.
We are members of The Royal Horticultural Society (RHS).
We are also members of the National Allotment Society (NSALG).
Renting an allotment
There over 100 allotments of various sizes. The standard size of a plot is '10 poles' (please see this link to the NSALG website for more info), although there are a number of smaller plots. The current rent is £5 per pole per annum, payable each April with an initial £50 deposit, to be returned on vacation of the plot if it is left in a clean and tidy condition. A key to the site gate is provided and further keys are available for a £10 deposit. Administration of the rents is carried out by the Old Windsor Parish Council.
